The Downward Spiral

I dump all my feelings and thoughts about just about everything here. This place is an attempt to be a reflection of who I am… of my total life. It is kind of dark as I am kind of dark, but it should be kind of funny too. Quick info about me can be found on the right by clicking “Biography”… more in depth info can be found in all the other links on the right.

My obligatory disclaimer: Some people think this is kinda a scary place or something… it’s not.. it’s just me. The people that know me know that I’m not scary, just “deep” (or perhaps, “verbose”) for lack of a better word. However, that being said, things here are my ideas about the world. Feel free to write me about anything here. I’d love to discuss what I think.

A Little History

This site was originally a branch of what was called the Viridian Order started by Noel Field and helped along primarily by Lucas Rezabek and myself in high school. Noel approached me about this one day and asked me to make a site that was one facet of his personality… the dark side. I dug that a lot and called it The Downward Spiral which is the title of a Nine Inch Nails album. After that, the original idea was abandoned to be instead rival factions with different ideas of how the world worked. There were several with such names as the Dioscuri and Oblivion. They were all based on some sort of ethos that represented the leaders’ views on life and were all quite different.

This one was the biggest and the oldest and the most unchanging.Well Noel and I had a falling out and he shut down the Viridian Order. After that he demanded that it all be removed from the Internet. I did so, but kept this page under the pretense that it would be my personal homepage since so much of it was about me.Since then, Noel has reopened the Viridian Order, but I don’t know how active it is. I have nothing to do with it nor would I be welcome or interested.I’ve updated the hell out of this site, but kept the name. I’m not so doom and gloom as I once was.

Originally the Downward Spiral was about how the world is going to hell in a hand basket. That’s not really what I’m about anymore. I have that sort of Gothic influence, but it’s not very dominant.I keep the name, after considering changing it so many times, because that’s what this place is called. It’d sorta being like changing my own name. I guess if I had to put meaning to the name now, it’d have to be a reminder of the tendency of things if not attended to… that is… down the spiral.

The Overall Positions page contains lefts overs from the Viridian Order days, but revamped and updated to what I currently believe as far as religion, the self, others, and reality are concerned… in a nutshell.
