people need to mind their own business
Thursday, January 24th, 2008My g/f is a teacher and she is being pressured to remove her Facebook account. This is because that uptight bitch ass parents who don’t know anything about parenting and whose kids are nosy wannabes with no life are upset that teachers may, outside of school, have fun .. and then they’ll ‘expose’ the teachers for what they ‘really are’ and some equally uptight bitch ass supervisor will make life hard for the ‘offending’ teacher.
So they had an after school talk about how to ‘watch out’ .. that news people are ‘cracking down’ on teachers on facebook. So my g/f will remove it since she doesn’t really use it.. but she did.. in the space of like 2 weeks.. reconnect with some people she hadn’t talked to.. cuz.. you know.. Facebook is a GOOD THING. And when people try to use it as a ‘weapon’ against you, well they need to check themselves.
Facebook, for its part, is doing the right thing. You can make it so that nobody can find you on there and you are invisible to everyone but your friends. However, when someone says “it’s your facebook or your job”, well, the decision is clear… goodbye job.. er.. oh.. not me we’re talking about here 
Anyway.. this is an old story starting when people could put up personal webpages and someone would google (alta vista?) them and “omg they like the color blue.. I’m totally not hiring them” shit would happen… ugh… people suck.. that’s the problem.
